Conference Commentary
This weeks conference address is by Elder Bednar titled “We will prove them herewith”. This is the FOOD STORAGE talk! I loved this talk. I love food. I love food storage. I love all things preparedness. I have loved this topic for about 20 years now. Elder Bednar quotes one of my very favorite scriptures in this talk. D&C 88:119 “prepare every needful thing; and establish a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God.” Thankfully, I have been following this scripture the best I can so when the great toilet paper shortage of April 2020 hit, we did not panic. My children called my name blessed because there was never a fear of using my back up rags as toilet paper.
There are always things we can do to better prepare. We have spent the last couple of weeks cleaning, organizing and doing an inventory of our storage room. Elder Bednar gives us a homework assignment which I believe we need to take very seriously. He says “I invite each of us to consider our ways and examine ourselves. What do we need to improve in our lives spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually? Now is the time to prepare to prove ourselves.” What is one thing you can do this week to be better prepared for things to come in the future?
