Essential takeaway: The enemy is everywhere.
Today we recognize those veterans that have served to protect our homes, our country, and our ideals. On December 8th, 1941, the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave a speech that is now called the “Infamy Speech”. In it he said “Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger”. My friends, we are still living in a time where hostilities exist. We are in grave danger. On this Veterans Day, I wonder, do we recognize our enemy? My 7 year old daughter wrote this during our Come Follow Me family study:

My fellow soldiers, we are at war! WAKE UP! Please wake up and be aware of the enemy. He knows we are at war. He remembers the great war in Heaven. This battle still continues. There have been many causalities of this long war. Paul gives us great advise in 1 Tim 6:11: “O man (and women) of God, …… follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness”. What are we following after? I wonder, am I one of the elect in the ordinary?
I end with Paul’s words in 1 Tim 6:12: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life”.
